Wind energy

In 2004, the first commercial wind park of Vietnam with 15MW output will be set up in Binh Dinh province. Further extension steps to up to 100 MW output are already planned.

VIET-EURO-Consulting has contributed to the project-planning phase of Phuong Mai Wind Park, especially during compilation of the feasibility study.

The over 3.200km coastline of Vietnam has a promising potential for utilization of renewable energy sources.

Phuong Mai Wind Park is the pilot project for utilization of wind power in Vietnam. It is assumed that after successful implementation further sites will be developed.

In 2002, power consumption in Vietnam has reached approximately 41 bill. KWh. Power consumption is increasing by 10-15% annually.
